Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Pevah Tech Solution ("we", "us") for your use of the PDF Reader & Editor app and its online services ("the app"). By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Using the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for personal or business purposes, in line with these terms and the rules of the app store you downloaded it from. You may not copy, modify, resell, reverse engineer or redistribute the app, except where the law allows it.

2. Your account

You can use the app as a guest or create an account. If you create one, give accurate information, keep your sign-in details secure, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

3. Your documents

You keep all rights to the documents you open, create or edit. We don't claim ownership of them. You give us only the permission needed to store, sync and process them to provide the features you use, such as syncing, cloud tools and Ask AI. Please keep your own backups of important documents; sync is a convenience, not a guaranteed archive.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the app to:

• process documents you don't have the right to use, including removing passwords or restrictions from files you aren't authorised to unlock;
• store or share unlawful content, or content that infringes others' intellectual property or privacy;
• attempt to break, overload or get around the security of our services, or access other users' data;
• use cloud tools or Ask AI through automated means, or in a way that unreasonably burdens the service.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

5. Premium

The app is supported by ads, which are shown to all users. Some features (such as OCR, Watermark, cloud tools and Ask AI) require Premium; you may be able to use some Premium tools once by watching an optional video ad. Documents scanned in the free version carry a small "Scanned with PDF Reader & Editor" footer; Premium scans don't. Premium is sold through Google Play or the Apple App Store, whose payment terms apply. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in your store account settings; cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep Premium until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled by the store according to its refund policy and applicable law. Prices and the features included may change; changes to a subscription price apply from your next renewal, with notice through the store.

6. Cloud tools and Ask AI

Cloud tools are provided by our processing partner, iLovePDF, and Ask AI is powered by Google's Gemini. Results depend on the input; conversions may not perfectly match the original layout, and compression or repair may not work on every file. Ask AI can make mistakes. Its answers are for information only and are not legal, financial, medical or other professional advice; check important information yourself. We may set fair-use limits on these services to keep them available for everyone.

7. Third-party services

The app relies on services from Google (Firebase, Gemini, ML Kit, Play), Apple and iLovePDF. Their availability is outside our control, and their own terms may also apply to your use of them.

8. Changes and availability

We work to keep the app running well, but we may change, suspend or discontinue features, and the online services may sometimes be unavailable. If we discontinue a paid feature during a subscription period, we'll offer a fair remedy as required by law.

9. Disclaimer

To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Kenya Consumer Protection Act, 2012 or other laws that can't be excluded.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim, or KES 1,000 if you haven't paid anything. These limits don't apply where the law doesn't allow them.

11. Ending these terms

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time (see how to delete your account). We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as 3, 9, 10 and 12) survive.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Kenya, without affecting any right you have to bring a claim where you live. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using the app after that, the updated terms apply.
